Exploring North America with National Geographic Venture

With the latest addition to their fleet, Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic brings an exciting new way to explore the Californian coast. With brand new itineraries to explore, this intimate ship offers the finer luxuries of expedition cruising along with exciting expeditions to keep discovery at your fingertips.

Being the sister ship to National Geographic Quest, Venture has been given the latest technology to help explorers make the most of its itineraries. The first sailing will take place on 2nd December 2018 and will be a six-day cruise, starting in San Francisco through Monterey and finishing in Long Beach, California. Guests will have the chance to experience the open waters with many different options, including a ROM (Remotely Operated Vehicle) capable of reaching 1,000 feet, far beyond the depth of a diver. Within the deep blue, you will observe marine wildlife up-close and personal with your expedition leader.

The ship has been specially designed to traverse through shallow waters, allowing adventurers to get closer to the exotic wildlife. Plus, with zodiacs available on the twin expedition craft landing platforms, there will be chances for everybody to see the beautiful landscape. To complement these spectacular views, the cabins have been designed to allow all guests panoramic views that won’t be obstructed by anchoring gear. During your stay, you will be given snorkelling gear and wetsuits that will be yours throughout the duration of your cruise. You can, however, also bring your own.

With the experienced team at Lindblad Expeditions, you will frequently find yourself off the ship exploring the best of what California has to offer. The six sets of connecting cabins are ideal for families who are looking to escape the norms in search for an unforgettable adventure. You can expect the same gourmet meals that would be on any Lindblad expedition, made with a variety of locally grown ingredients and sustainable fish. A casual atmosphere can be found around the ship, where you can talk to expedition leaders and other adventures.

As part of the expedition photography program, Lindblad is offering guests the perfect way to learn how to take the perfect photograph with their onboard veteran naturalist. The onboard guide will point you in the right direction, showing you the best camera settings for each composition throughout your cruise.
